PennDOT has lifted speed restrictions on interstates in northwest Pennsylvania.

The restrictions were in place due to the severity of the winter storm that was passing through the area.

Restrictions on Interstate 80 and 376 have been lifted.

Three areas are under level 1 weather event restrictions:

  • Interstate 79 from I-80 to I-90, additional speed restrictions are in place from I-80 to the West Virginia state border.

Under level 1 restrictions, some vehicles are not permitted on roadways included in the restrictions.

Some vehicles not permitted in the roadways include passenger vehicles towing trailers, RVs and motorhomes, school and commercial buses, and motorcycles.

Speed limits are restricted to 45 miles per hour on all roadways where restrictions are in place.
