BOARDMAN, Ohio - Boardman and Beaver Police were involved in a pursuit on recently with a man in a wheelchair that escaped from a nursing home.

According to the report, a 53-year-old man in a wheelchair fled from officers on South Avenue around 4 a.m. on December 21.

Police say the man fled southbound on South Avenue from E Western Reserve Road.

Officers found the man near the Shell station when the man ran from them.

Reports say the man was intoxicated at the time.

The man was checked out by EMS personnel and assaulted one of the paramedics, leaving a scratch on the paramedic's face.

The man was arrested and taken to the hospital.
