COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has ordered all flags be flown at half-staff to honor the life and service of United States Capitol Police Officers Brian D. Sicknick and Howard Liebengood, as well as all Capitol Police Officers and law enforcement across the country.

Officer Sicknick was killed after protests at the U.S. Capitol Wednesday amid Congress's joint session meeting where members certified President-Elect Joe Biden's win.

According to NBC, Officer Liebengood, 51, died Saturday after responding to the riots, but the cause of his death has not been released.

The governor has ordered that all U.S. and Ohio flags be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout Ohio until sunset on Wednesday, January 13.

This order is in accordance with the orders issued Monday by President Donald Trump.
