Senior Citizens in Salem received their first dose of the Moderna Vaccine

The feeling was very optimistic after those 75 and older received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine at Salem Regional Medical Center.
"I have a family that I haven't seen in almost two years and I'm anxious to see them," said Mary Hogue, who received the vaccine.
Dr. Kravec, the Chief Clinical Officer at Mercy Health, urges people to get the vaccine if they can.
"Knowing that for every person who is vaccinated, that person will likely not spread the virus. That's the solace I have in the fact that although it's slow, it's a positive direction every day," said Dr. Kravec.
Many people want to get back to their families and are excited to get out of the house.
"I already have it planned out, we are going to red lobster once we can go out of the house," said Frank Scvenich.
The people who got the vaccine will have to come back in 28 days to receive their second dose.
