The McDonough Museum Honors Recital Series will present is its next virtual performance featuring Soprano Sierra McCorvey Saturday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. on the McDonough Museum and Cliffe College YouTube channels.

During her performance, McCorvey will perform "Ride On, King Jesus," an African American spiritual, “Porgi, amor” from Le Nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; “Senza mamma” from Suor Angelica by Giacomo Puccini; “I Know My Redeemer Liveth” from The Messiah by George Frideric Handel; Morgen! by Richard Strauss; “My Man’s Gone Now” from Porgy and Bess by George Geshwin and "Lift Every Voice and Sing" by Weldon Johnson and John Rosamond Johnson.

McCorvey is second-year graduate student pursuing a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance degree with Dr. Misook Yun. She has been featured with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Packard Band, and Mahoning Valley Chorale.

She won first place in the Adult Singer category at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Ohio Chapter Virtual Audition held last November and has been recognized with many other awards and scholarships.

McCorvey earned a bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University. When not performing, she enjoys introducing inner-city youth to the joy of opera, teaching in the community and singing with her church choir at Holy Family Parish in Poland.
