Mahoning, Trumbull ahead of state vaccination rate

The Ohio Department of Health is reporting 25,011 individuals have received the first COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, Feb. 23, with 1,474,872 people in the state receiving the first vaccine shot. This represents 12.62 percent of the population of the state. As far as those in the state who have received both needed doses, 32,372 people completed their vaccinations in the last 24 hours, with 707,396 people total receiving two doses in the state or 6.05 percent.
Mahoning County vaccinated 311 people in the last day, with 34,464 individuals receiving the first shot so far. The county has vaccinated 15.07 percent of the county's total population. 524 people received their second dose in the last day, with 14,137 individuals completing the vaccination or 6.26 percent of the county's population.
Trumbull County is reporting 149 new vaccinations in the last 24 hours, with 25,267 total receiving the first shot or 12.76 percent of the county. 563 people received their second dose in the last day, with 11,734 individuals completing the vaccination or 5.93 percent of the county's population.
Columbiana County vaccinated 38 people in the last day, with 12,655 people in the county receiving the first shot or 12.42 percent of the county's total population. 167 people received their second dose in the last day, with 5,026 individuals completing the vaccination or 4.93 percent of the county's population.
