Grove City PD names Officer of the Year, adds new patrolman
The Grove City Police Department handed out their Officer of the Year award and welcomed a new member to the department.
Corporal Michael Allias was named 2020 Officer of the Year Monday during the Grove City Borough Council meeting.
The award program was started in 2009 to recognize officers that go above and beyond normal service.
Corporal Allias has received the award three times since its inception.
"Cpl. Allias comes to work every day with a great attitude and works hard to see that the goals of the Department are achieved," said Chief Dean Osborne.
Chief Osborne also welcomed a new member to the department during the meeting.
Patrolman Darryl Webb began working with the department on February 24 and previously worked as a campus supervisor at George Junior Republic and as a part-time officer with the New Sewickley Police Department.
Webb will be in the field training program through April.
