A 47-year-old Cleveland man remains held in the Columbiana County Jail on a $150,000 bond after police say he attempted to meet with a thirteen-year-old girl, hoping to have sex.

Perry Township Police arrested David Brownlee on Prospect Street in Salem on Friday.

Detectives say Brownlee had been messaging the teenage girl, asking her to meet with him for sexual favors.

Perry Township Police along with officers from the Salem Police Department arrested Brownlee as he arrived for the alleged meeting with the girl.

Brownlee, who was charged with importuning and obstructing official business, is currently on federal probation for felonious assault, aggravated burglary, and kidnapping.

No plea was entered during his arraignment in Columbiana Municipal Court on Monday.  His next court hearing is scheduled for May 29,
