Auto Analyst: Lordstown Motors Beta won't affect investigations against company

Lordstown Motors met their March 31st deadline in getting their first BETA version of the Endurance Pickup Truck built, but will that have any effect on the lawsuit and investigations against them?
CNBC auto industry reporter Phil LeBeau told 21 News the allegations made against Lordstown that they misled investors about their pre-orders is a completely separate issue from being able to make the BETA.
He said the building of the BETA model won't have much effect on the lawsuit or the SEC inquiry.
"There's no way of knowing whether or not the SEC brings forth charges or brings forth any findings against Lordstown Motors," said LeBeau. "We know they inquired about the reservations, but at this point, that's all we know and it may be that, six months from now, there's nothing there."
LeBeau said Lordstown Motors Corp. needs to keep hitting its goals of testing and BETA's to reach its September production deadline to show investors that the company can be successful long-term.
