Newton Falls Mayor calls for resignation of council members after meeting absences

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - Two Newton Falls council members did not attend a special meeting held Wednesday.
The meeting was called to set a date for the recall election of 4th Ward councilwoman Sandra Breymaier.
The special meeting lasted less than ten minutes and Adam Zimmerman and Breymaier did not attend.
Mayor Kline stated that Breymaier had a medical situation, causing her to miss the meeting. A reason for Zimmerman's absence was not given.
This was the second time that Breymaier and Zimmerman were not in attendance, causing Kline to call for their resignations.
Former councilman Tarry Alberini and Breymaier had accused Kline of gross misconduct just two weeks ago. Since that time, Alberini has resigned from his position and the motion filed to remove Mayor Kline has been withdrawn.
Council will meet again on Friday.
