Active community member, Emily Powers, passes away
Emily was married to John Weed Powers, the nephew of Edward and Alice Resch Powers, who made the gift in 1968 to save the old Warner Theater and help convert it to the Symphony Center.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A member of multiple area organizations passed away recently.
Emily Powers, a member of the prominent Youngstown family, passed away at the age of 99.
Emily was married to her college sweetheart John Weed Powers, the nephew of Edward and Alice Resch Powers, who made the gift in 1968 to save the old Warner Theater and help convert it to the Symphony Center.
Alice and Edward Powers are the namesakes of Youngstown's Powers Auditorium.
Emily was involved with the Junior League of Youngstown, Youngstown Symphony activities, and the Mahoning Valley Historical Society.
John Powers followed his aunt and uncle on the Youngstown Symphony Board.
