AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - There's some good news for Chick-fil-A fans in Austintown with word potential construction for the restaurant could begin sometime in July.

21 News followed up on the progress Thursday with Trustee Jim Davis who says Chick-fil-A will begin site demolition in June with the potential construction for the new restaurant in July.

Back in November of 2020, zoning changes were approved and will allow the restaurant to build where the former Mashorda's stood on Mahoning Avenue.

Chick-fil-A confirmed that the Austintown location will be opening in late 2021. 

Currently, there are Chick-Fil-A locations in Boardman, Niles and on the Youngstown State University campus.
