WOLF CREEK TWP., Pa. - Two Los Angeles men are being held in the Mercer County Jail on half a-million-dollar bond after state police say they found nearly 64 pounds of cocaine and fentanyl concealed in their car along Interstate 80.

Police say they stopped a 2006 Infiniti M35 for a traffic violation as it was traveling east on the interstate in Wolf Creek Township on Wednesday.

A search of the car revealed hidden compartments that police say contained 63.8 pounds of cocaine and the powerful opiate fentanyl.

Alvaro Elenes, 44, and Gabriel Garcia, 26, were arrested and each charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver drugs and possession of a controlled substance.

Both men appeared Thursday before a district magistrate who set a bond of $500,000 for each suspect.

They remain jailed awaiting another court hearing on June 16.
