Newton Falls Police are working to rid the area of drugs.

The department launched Operation "Don't Bring Your Drugs to Newton Falls" on January 1, 2021, and has made progress in getting drugs off the streets.

Police have used their drug dog, neighborhood crime tips, confidential informants, and other factors to crackdown on drugs in the area.

Between January 1 and May 31, there have been 63 drug cases in Newton Falls.

During that period, officers have seized a number of drugs including fentanyl, crack cocaine, and meth.

Below is a list of drugs seized by Newton Falls Police during the six month period:

  • 5.56 ounces of Meth
  • 10.5 grams of Fentanyl
  • 5 grams of Crack Cocaine
  • 66 Pills unprescribed
  • 4.43 ounces of Marijuana
  • 5 Items of THC Oil/Wax
  • 101 Items of Drug Paraphernalia

Many of the drug cases have been filed in Newton Falls Municipal Court while others are still pending lab testing.

Police say not only have they removed drugs from the street, but have also seen a reduction in drug overdoses.
