Woman gets 2-year sentence for posing as nurse in Trumbull County

WARREN, Ohio - A woman is going to prison for two years for posing as a nurse to get a job at a Trumbull County nursing home.
The sentence was handed down Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to 31-year-old Amanda Thorne of Ashtabula.
Investigators say Thorne used a false identity to get a job as a nurse in a nursing home. Her bosses at the nursing home contacted police when they became suspicious of her.
After investigating their concerns, police arrested Thorne, accusing her of using the identity of a registered nurse with the same name to work at the facility.
In March, Thorne pleaded guilty to Identity Fraud, Practicing Nursing Without a License, and Tampering with Records.
