YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown Police Department's saturation patrols are expected to begin Friday night.

YPD is enlisting the help of state and federal agencies with these patrols such as the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to improve the quality of life in high-violence areas throughout the city.

Officials say that these patrols are not just for cracking down on drugs, but other crimes that impact the city and neighborhoods as well such as violence.
