Struthers sex offender sentenced to prison for failing to register address

YOUNGSTOWN - A convicted Valley sex offender who has been found guilty of failing to register his address three times in the past is going to prison after being convicted for the fourth time.
Austin Rowe, 27, formerly of Struthers, pleaded guilty in federal court last week to failing to register his address with authorities as required of convicted sex offenders.
Rowe was immediately sentenced to one and a half years in prison, followed by five years probation.
According to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court, authorities found Rowe living at a trailer park in Mercer County, Pennsylvania in February when his sex offender registration listed him as having a Youngstown, Ohio address.
The owner of a home on Youngstown's West Side told investigators that Rowe had been registering her house as his address but was not actually living there.
Court records over the years have listed Rowe's address as Struthers, Youngstown, and homeless.
Police say Rowe had not registered the Mercer address with Pennsylvania's sex offender system.
Authorities say that since being declared as a Tier 1 Sex Offender following his conviction of unlawful sexual conduct with a female minor in 2013, Rowe has been found guilty of failing to register his address in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
