WARREN, Ohio -  A Warren woman is in the Trumbull County jail accused of hitting her ex-husband with a baseball bat during a child custody dispute.

Police were called to the 800 block of Summit Street Wednesday afternoon where 38-year-old Jacklyn Santagata told officers that she had been struck by her former husband who was no longer at the location.

After police found the 47-year-old husband was later located, investigators say they learned that the ex-wife had allegedly struck him twice in the head with a baseball bat which officers found in the woman’s car.

According to the police report, the two began fighting when the former husband told Santagata that Children’s Services had authorized him to take custody of their child and tried removing their son from her car.

Santagata was booked into jail on a charge of felonious assault.

The couple’s child was turned over to the care of a relative.
