COLUMBIANA, Ohio - The Crestview Local School District in Columbiana announced on Friday that the district's temporary mask mandate will expire on Monday evening.

The announcement came via a post on the district's website, as well as in the form of a letter from district superintendent, Matthew T. Manley sent out to parents of children enrolled in the district.

According to the announcement, masks will still be required in school on Monday and masks will be optional starting on Tuesday, Oct. 19.

Masks are still strongly encouraged for students, as Manley noted in his letter that students who wear masks will rarely be required to quarantine. In addition, due to a federal mandate, masks will still be required at all times on school transportation vehicles.

In the letter, Manley advised parents that the district currently has no plans to extend the mandate.

This week, the district has seen 10 positive cases in students averaging at 11 and zero students quarantined averaging at zero.
