Monday weather picture perfect for local artists at Mill Creek MetroParks

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Monday afternoon, if you happen to take a walk through Mill Creek MetroPark, you may notice a group of local artists along the western shore of Lake Glacier.
This group is comprised of the Northeast Ohio Watercolor Society and the Northeast Ohio Plein Air Group.
There are about a half dozen artists who specialize in watercolor and oils that will spend the day painting the view of The Parapet Bridge or one of the other beautiful sites along the western shore.
Organizer Beth Basista says the artists will work from about noon into the evening or until their pieces are completed.
Basista says "en plein air" is simply the act of painting outdoors. And she says it is a wonderful experience and exercise for the artists.
Basista says it's not unusual when an artist is painting "en plein air" for the public to stop and engage. Basista says if you are in the area, the public is welcome to watch the artists at work.
