Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership announces collaboration to provide fresh produce to Warren

WARREN, Ohio - The Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership (TNP) has announced a collaboration with Urban Micro Farms and Watu Market to provide fresh, local produce offerings to Warren.
Urban Micro Farms is a Black-owned local farm that grows fresh produce through the city of Warren, and Watu Market is a Black-owned convenience store on the southeast side of Warren.
Watu Market was able to expand its fresh produce offerings by receiving baskets and refrigeration during the Finance Fund - Healthy Food for Ohio (HFFO) Grant awarded to TNP at the beginning of 2021.
"This collaborative approach to mitigating the impacts of food insecurity in Warren not only supports healthy eating, but a healthier food distribution network by lowering food miles and supporting local growers," said TNP Healthy Food Access Coordinator, Christian Bennett-Mosely.
Watu Market is located on 2957, Niles Rd. SE in Warren and currently has a variety of fresh vegetables grown from Urban Micro Farms.
