Beaver Township police: No bomb at South Range schools

BEAVER TWP., Ohio - After sweeping the building on Wednesday and Thursday, Beaver Township police said they found no evidence of any explosive devices at the South Range schools after a threat led to classes being canceled for the day.
Classes had been canceled Thursday as a precautionary measure after a message was found carved into a desk in the school library saying a bomb would go off on Thursday.
Beaver Township police, along with a bomb sniffing dog from the Mahoning county sheriff's department and Youngstown State University police, searched the buildings on Wednesday and Thursday and say they found no evidence of any bombs. They also reviewed surveillance video and found nothing suspicious.
Superintendent Bethany Carlson said classes will resume Friday as normal.
