Humane agents with the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County say they plan to press charges after a Chihuahua was found in poor conditions.

The CEO of AWL, Lori Shandor, says last week agents were called out to a home in Champion.  Officials say they were met at the door by the dog's owner who reluctantly showed them the dog.

The Chihuahua was suffering from untreated skin and ear infections. The animal is now receiving veterinary care.

The Animal Welfare League is asking for donations towards their services. Officials say now through December 31st DeSalvo Construction will match donations up to $10,000.
