YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown city council agreed to put $8 million in American Rescue Funds toward cleaning up blight.
Council members say the money won't be divided equally among each ward but will be awarded based on the sites that need to be revitalized the most.
A second ordinance passed includes a $212,000 state grant, to remediate the site of a long-abandoned convenience store on Wick Avenue.
Council also agreed to file applications to enter into a grant agreement to fund more work downtown on Walnut and Boardman streets.
