Struthers woman arrested for second time on child endangering charges

STRUTHERS, Ohio - A Struthers woman is facing charges after police officers found three small children locked in a bedroom.
According to the report, officers went to the home on the 2300 block of E Midlothian and saw the children through a window. Officers had to use a battering ram to break through the front door because other doors were blocked.
Officers opened the door and were met by a strong odor and observed food thrown throughout the house and used diapers piled up.
Reports say officers found the doorknob to the bedroom where the children were had been turned with the lock facing the hallway to stop the children from leaving the room.
The children told officers that they were hungry and hadn't eaten since the day before. Only a small amount of food was found in the home and bugs were flying around the home.
The children were removed from the home and taken to the Struthers Police Department.
According to the report, the mother was identified as 24-year-old Priscilla Destouet, with who police were familiar due to a previous endangering arrest that happened in 2021.
Officers say Destouet was doing community service at Struthers City Hall during the time and sprinted out of the building when she found out that police were looking for her.
Police went back to her home where she was trying to leave in her car. She was placed under arrest and taken to the Mahoning County Jail.
She is being held without bond and is charged with three counts of endangering children and a count of obstructing official business.
