A Warren man was arrested Monday after allegedly stealing two iPhone 11s from two people trying to sell him the phones.

The two victims planned to meet Marquis Gary, 24, at a Circle K on North Park Avenue in Warren on January 25th. They had arranged the meeting to sell the phones over Facebook.

According to police, a vehicle with a woman in the driver's seat and Gary in the passengers seat pulled into the parking lot of the Circle K. Gary remained in the car. One of the victims handed him the first iPhone through the window and began explaining how to transfer data to the phone. Reports say Gary then asked to see the second phone.

After the victim handed Gary the second iPhone, police say the driver of the vehicle threw the car into drive and sped out of the parking lot.

The victim held onto the inside of the door and was drug through the parking lot, according to the police report. The victim did not sustain any major injuries.

Gary is booked in the Trumbull County Jail on two charges of robbery.
