LIBERTY TWP, Ohio - A deceased dog, two adult dogs and seven puppies were all removed from a Liberty Township home on Friday afternoon.

Liberty Police Captain, Ray Buhala tells 21 News that Trumbull County Child Protective Services was called to a home on Redfern Drive to check on the condition of two children alongside Liberty Police.

Investigation revealed a deceased dog in a kennel in the back yard of the house prompting a police investigation. Police located the deceased dog, a three-year-old child and two adult dogs and seven puppies.

Additionally, an eight-year-old child was also reported to have resided in the home, but was at school during the time of the investigation. Both children were taken by Child Protective Services

Trumbull County Animal Welfare League Director, Lori Shandor tells us the two adult dogs appeared to be underweight and that some of the puppies appeared to be dehydrated.

Additionally, Shandor said there was fecal matter around the house and that the house had a "very significant odor." 

The deceased dog was taken for an necropsy to determine the cause of death. The puppies and the two adult dogs were taken from the home as well.

Buhala tells 21 News that a woman in the house, Tamika Fussell (42) had three felony warrants out for her arrest, all for possession of drugs. 

Police also found firearms and drugs in the house prompting the Mahoning Valley Drug Task Force to conduct a search warrant of the home.

Fussell was booked in the Mahoning County jail and is charged with Possession of Drugs. Further charges are pending upon investigation
