LISBON, Ohio - A building that was once home to a grocery store in Lisbon will become the new location for the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, according to Mayor Pete Wilson.

In a Facebook post from the mayor, the BMV is moving into the eastern side of the former Sparkle Market that once contained the Lemon Tree floral shop.

Scheduled to open on March 28, Wilson says he’s been told that the new office is two times the size of the current BMV office on Route 45.

The new space will have more terminals to hasten the licensing process and will be six feet apart to ensure social distancing.

According to the mayor, there are plans in the future to open a drive-thru on the side of the building for vehicle registrations.

The Sparkle Market moved out of the building in November 2020.
