HD Premier recalls DigitDots magnetic balls due to ingestion hazard

HD Premier is issuing a recall on their DigitDots products due to a potential ingestion hazard.
The recall involves 3mm and 5mm magnetic balls which are small, spherical, loose and separable neodymium rare-earth magnets with strong magnetic flux.
When two or more magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets could attract to each other or another metal object and become lodged in the digestive system.
This can result in perforations, twisting and/or blockage of the intestines, infection, blood poisoning and even death.
The recalled products were sold encased in clear, disposable packaging bearing the DigitDots name and logo and included a plastic carrying case, also bearing the name and logo.
Consumers who purchased the recalled magnets should stop using them immediately, take them away from children and contact HD Premier to receive a pre-paid label to return the recalled product. Upon receipt of the product, customers will receive a full refund.
Currently HD Premier is aware of four children who have ingested the recalled magnets and required surgery to remove them.
Additionally, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has been made aware of other reports of children as well as teens ingesting other company's high-powered magnets and requiring surgery including two deaths.
