NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - Back in early February, 21 News reported on a barn in Newton Falls that had its roof collapse due to snow and ice.

The Newton Falls Fire Department along with other local fire agencies and individuals provided assistance to free the trapped animals. The surviving cows were trailered to local farms where they could be cared for and milked.

Now a fundraiser is being held on Sunday, May 15 at Faces Lounge (13 W. Broad St. Newton Falls) to offset costs not covered by insurance, loss of income from milk production and replenish the barn's cow herd to get the farm viable again.

Anyone interested in donating to the farm should make checks payable to Newton Falls Montgomery Farm Fund and drop off the check at any Huntington Bank Branch.

The organizers are also asking for the community's help in any way possible including monetary donations to offset event costs, baskets for a raffle, items for a live auction and gift cards/certificates for prizes.
