Man arrested after allegedly trying to kidnap woman at Champion car wash

CHAMPION TWP., Ohio - A man is facing multiple charges after allegedly trying to kidnap a woman in Champion.
According to the report, the incident happened Friday night around 10:30 p.m. at a car wash on the 4000 block of Mahoning Avenue.
Police say 64-year-old David Honzu approached the woman with a knife and forced his way into her car.
The victim told police that Honzu told her to get into the passenger side of the car but she didn't move.
According to the report, the victim was able to get out of the car and away from Honzu, who tried to grab her shirt as she escaped.
Police say the victim ran through the parking lot and got help as the suspect left the area.
Honzu was later arrested Saturday morning.
He was booked into the Trumbull County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery, kidnapping and tampering with evidence.
