Judge orders electronic monitoring, $250K bond, no guns for Pittsburgh Aeronautics student

GIRARD, Ohio - A grand jury will consider evidence in the case of a New Waterford man who was charged with inducing panic and making terroristic threats following the lockdown of the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in Vienna Township.
School Director Joseph Deramo testified during Thursday’s hearing in Girard Municipal Court for 18-year-old Christian Blymiller.
On May 25, Deramo said two students told him that they believed Blymiller was depressed and had expressed thoughts of hurting someone.
Although Deramo testified that he had no knowledge of Blymiller making a direct threat directed at the school, he locked down and evacuated the building after learning that Blymiller had purchased an AR-15 assault-style rifle and 100 rounds of ammunition.
Blymiller never was on campus with a weapon.
After Police phoned Blymiller and his father, the teen surrendered to police at a truck stop on Route 7 in North Lima that evening.
The father turned the weapon over to authorities and Blymiller was booked into the county jail without bond.
After Thursday’s court hearing, the case was sent to the Trumbull County Grand Jury for further consideration.
Blymiller’s bond was and set a $250,000 and the court issued an order prohibiting him from being around firearms.
He has been placed on electronic monitoring and ordered to have no contact with the school while the grand jury considers the charges against him.
