Outgoing YSU President Tressel to present 'State of the University' address on Wednesday

YOUNGSTOWN - The man who has been helping guide Youngstown State University for the past eight years will present his last “State of the University” address on Wednesday.
University President Jim Tressel is scheduled to speak at 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at the YSU’s Williamson Hall auditorium.
The presentation will also be live-streamed on the YSU YouTube channel.
The auditorium's capacity is approximately 200, but the live stream will be available for viewing just outside the auditorium in the atrium of Williamson Hall.
Tressel announced this would be his last year as YSU President in June, with plans to step down in February.
Previously coaching the YSU Penguins football team from 1986-2000 before taking over as head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Tressel then served as Executive Vice President for Student Success at the University of Akron.
Tressel became YSU’s 9th president in 2014.
University trustees are working on a plan to search for Tressel’s successor.
