Austintown mother feels lucky to be alive after car crashes into her home

An Austintown mother said she's lucky to be alive after an alleged distracted driver crashed into her home while she was sitting on the couch last week.
Lindsay Renz was sitting in her living room on the evening of Friday, September 2 when all of a sudden, a driver crashed through her front window of the home, pushing her on the couch from the living room all the way to the back of the home.
Since the crash, there has been an outpour of support from the community to help the family as they pick up the pieces.
Austintown Police said a distracted driver, 30-year-old Shawn Jameson, was speeding down Monaca Avenue, and when Jameson got to the intersection of White Beech Lane, he continued to drive westbound onto the property straight into the home.
First responders found Renz pinned underneath the car.
"I have a fractured nose, of course my eyes are black and blue, I have stitches on my legs [and] rib injuries," she said.
Renz said the home is a total loss and their belongings need to be replaced.
Jameson was charged with failure to control, driving under license suspension and speeding. Police said he was using his cell phone as a GPS and dropped his phone by the brake pedal before the crash occurred.
Renz said she's not only blessed to be alive but is also blessed by the outpouring of support from the community after a relative made a GoFundMe page for her and her family.
As of now, $10,750 has been raised, with the campaign's goal being $20,000.
