Parents who donated kidneys to sons now hoping for new donor

Sitting with Patty Babcanec in her dining room, she tells the story of the trying and taxing health journey of her oldest son Joe and middle son Josh.
It began when Josh turned three.
Doctors noticed he was smaller than he should've been.
A check of his thyroid came back fine, except for one thing.
"He had massive protein in the urine, which is a first indicator that there could be something wrong with the kidneys," Patty said.
A specialist in Pittsburgh confirmed a hereditary kidney condition.
That led to more bad news.
"Right after Joey turned five...they did a biopsy and found that he had focal sigmental glomerulosclerosis," said Patty.
Later that year, Joey's kidneys failed.
After dialysis, Patty tested as a match and gave him one of her kidneys.
At the same time, Josh endured more testing.
A year later, his dad Boe made the same sacrifice.
But after more than 20 years, Josh's one functioning kidney is failing him again.
He spent Thursday in Pittsburgh - back on dialysis - back on the waiting list for a new kidney.
"It's very hard to put yourself out there like that and ask for help but you do whatever you have to do for your children," says Patty.
And now that she and Boe have done everything in their power, they're hoping someone out there can grant them one more miracle.
The latest step in a journey their faith and their bond are guiding them through.
