Niles Police tell 21 News the Macy's in the Eastwood Mall has been broken into Saturday night.

Police Captain, John Marshall tells us the store was broken into Saturday night.

Cafaro Corporate Communications Director, Joe Bell tells 21 News there were two alarm drops with the first one occurring shortly before midnight and the second occurring just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Bell tells us the door to Macy's has been broken and two suspects had taken cash from the store's cash register. The door to the store is currently boarded up.

In addition, Bell tells us the same two suspects attempted to break into the mall's JCPenney store, but were unsuccessful. Bell says one suspect appeared to be wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and another appeared to be wearing a chicken suit.

This news comes just hours after Boardman Police investigated a break in at the JCPenney store in the Southern Park Mall that took place around the same time frame.

Bell says he believes these incidents are connected and tells us he was also made aware of a similar incident happening in the Canton area around the same time and that he believes all of these incidents to be part of a series of organized thefts.

Captain Marshall tells us further information is going to be released Monday. In the meantime, Bell tells us he's working very closely with Niles Police to identify and track down these suspects.
