NORTHEAST OHIO - Gas prices in Northeast Ohio saw a price jump this week.

According to AAA East Central's Gas Price Report, the average price for gasoline is 18 cents higher at $3.868 per gallon.

The average price per gallon last week was $3.682.

At this time last year, the average price per gallon was $3.318.

The lowest average price in the Mahoning Valley is in Niles at $3.844 per gallon, followed by Youngstown at $3.854.

According to AAA's Gas Price Report, fewer motorists fueled up this week but the national average still increased to $3.80 per gallon. That's nine cents less than one month ago and 38 cents more than a year ago.

Over the last week, gas demand dropped from 8.93 million barrels per day to 8.66 million.

The current cost for a barrel of crude oil was $92.61.
