School canceled for K-6 students at Campbell City Schools

CAMPBELL, Ohio - Classes have been canceled for students in grades K through 6 at Campbell City Schools on Thursday due to a bus driver shortage.
According to a message sent to parents by Superintendent, Matthew Bowen, only three out of four bus drivers are able to report for duty due to "unforeseen circumstances."
The message states that classes will be held as normal for Northeast Ohio Impact Academy, Campbell Memorial High School, MCCTC and preschool, as operations are still possible for grade levels with fewer students transported by bus.
"As you are all aware, we are unfortunately challenged by the ongoing transportation shortage existing in our local community. Although we have hired recent drivers, they are still in their training certification program. Help is on the way," Bowen said in his message.
Bowen says the district is continuing to work hard to create a future three-driver contingency staggered modified school day schedule in anticipation for future potential bus driver shortages.
