YOUNGSTOWN - Bond has been set at $8,000 for one of two 19-year-old Warren men named in an indictment alleging that they physically and verbally abused a disabled patient of a health care provider.

Sultahn Honzu appeared in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on Monday to answer charges naming him, George Gunther, and their employer, Penny's Behavioral Healthcare. All are charged with patient abuse and assault.

According to assistant county prosecutor Mike Yacovone, the men abused a sixteen-year-old male patient who was described as autistic and non-functioning.

Yacovone says there is video evidence to support allegations that the employees repeatedly struck the patient, slamming him against a wall, throwing him into a bed and verbally abused him.

Gunther and a representative of Penny's have yet to be arraigned on the charges.

The indictment lists the address of Penny’s Behavioral Healthcare as 1169 Trails Edge Drive, Hubbard.

Trumbull County property records show that address as a private residence.

If convicted, the employees could face up to 18 months in prison.
