LISBON, Ohio - Sentencing is scheduled Friday for a Lisbon woman who authorities say caused the death of her newborn baby, then tried to hide it from investigators.

Rebecca Young, 24, of Lusk Lock Road pleaded guilty to felony charges of involuntary manslaughter, endangering children, tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse.

According to an indictment, Young caused the death of an infant one day after its birth on July 23, 2020 and tried to cover up what happened.

Young is scheduled to appear for sentence before Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Megan Bickerton’s Friday morning.

The State is recommending a seven-year prison sentence.
