Students enrolled at Youngstown Community School can pick up items that may help alleviate family spending this winter.

Food and clothes are being provided to students Thursday, Feb. 16 by The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.

The organization was presented with $50,000 from the Jane F. Lamb Charitable Foundation to provide the items to children.

"Times are tough for our families with inflation, and being able to afford proper winter clothing is hard," said United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley President Bob Hannon. "They need all the help they can get."

Students will receive coats, hats, gloves, winter boots, food vouchers and food.

This giveaway is not open to the public. It's only available to Youngstown Community School students.

The school is located at 50 Essex Street in Youngstown.
