EAST PALESTINE, Ohio - If you made an appointment, or plan to make an appointment at the Health Assessment Clinic for people impacted by the chemical train derailment in East Palestine, you may be wondering what to expect once you get there.

The Ohio Emergency Management agency has published the below list that may help:

What can you expect?

  • Speak to a registered nurse of toxicologist.
  • Referrals, if needed.
  • Mental health professionals onsite.
  • An assessment to help officials understand the health needs of community members.

What will not be provided at the clinic?

  • Prescriptions
  • Vital sign monitoring
  • Diagnosis
  • Blood or urine testing.

 The clinic is for East Palestine residents only. Anyone who shows up must bring proof of residency. Officials will decide whether to take people from other communities at a later time.

The clinic will be held at the First Church of Christ, 20 W. Martin St., in East Palestine. In addition to two assessment rooms inside, a mobile unit operated by the Community Action Agency of Columbiana County, will be parked outside the church to accommodate more appointments.

  • Tuesday 12-6 p.m.
  • Thursday-Friday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
