EAST PALESTINE, Ohio - East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway posted an update on the ongoing cleanup efforts in the area Tuesday night.

Conaway met with U.S. EPA Administrator Michael Regan and Ohio Governor Mike DeWine privately today, expressing his concerns and expectations regarding the cleanup efforts. He said he's confident they'll receive the help they need after the meeting.

A roundtable discussion was held later in the day to discuss community concerns with local, state and federal agencies. One of the biggest concerns was the difficulty for residents to find information and resources available to them.

Conaway said EMA officials have put together a single-source resource packet which will be handed out to people living in the one-mile radius of the site beginning Wednesday.

"Our folks will be easily identifiable and the packet will be from local and state government. Please do not fall prey to anyone else." urged mayor Conaway in his Facebook post.

The informational packets will also be available at the village office, library and the Health Assessment Clinic and a PDF version will be posted to the East Palestine Mayoral Updates Facebook page.

Mayor Conaway also discussed the opening of the Health Assessment Clinic located at the First Church of Christ East Palestine (20 West Martin Street). The clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

You can schedule an appointment with the clinic by calling 234-564-7755 or 234-564-7888.
