PA Senate Committee holding Thursday hearing on East Palestine derailment

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - A Pennsylvania Senate Committee has scheduled a fact-finding hearing Thursday morning to gather testimony from those impacted by the Norfolk Southern derailment, fire, and spill just over the state line in east Palestine.
Chairman of the Veterans and Emergency Preparedness Committee, Senator, Doug Mastriano organized hearing on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m., at the Community College of Beaver County.
According to a press release, the hearing will focus on the emergency response to the derailment and subsequent controlled chemical release and will feature testimony from concerned residents.
The committee is seeking testimony from groups including Norfolk Southern representatives, officials for PA Governor, Josh Shapiro, administrators from PA agencies involved in the response, local officials and residents affected by the derailment.
