The new baseball rules are one week old and the Guardians are adjusting like every other team.

The pitch clock, no shift and larger bases are the three major changes although the clock is getting the most attention.

"I think that come August and September our bodies are going to fill a lot better for that extra 3-40 minutes, " said new infielder Josh Bell.

"It's a little bit of an adjustment but once I got called on it you adjust real quickly," said outfielder Steven Kwan.

Manager Tito Francona likes the changes. " The goal was for them not to get in the way of how we play and for the most part they haven't. We still have a couple more pitchers that are trying to get comfortable, but I think we're doing OK."

One of the aspects of the pitch clock comes in the field where players have to get back after chasing a foul ball.

"You have to get on your horse and be locked in and make sure you get back in time, " said outfielder Myles Straw.

"But, so far its been pretty fair," he concluded.
