Two suspects accused of shooting up a home are in jail following a police chase on Youngstown’s Southside late Wednesday.

Officers investigated after the city’s ShotSpotter system detected gunshots being fired along the 200 block of East Auburndale at around midnight.

A witness told police that two cars were involved in the shots being fired, some of which hit a vacant home in the neighborhood.

Police chased a car from the area, which crashed near Pemberton Park and officers captured the suspects after a foot chase.

Police say one of the suspects threw a gun at an officer as he was being arrested.

One of the suspects showed up at Mercy Hospital for treatment of an arm wound. 21 News is working to learn how he was shot.

According to police, officers recovered several guns in the arrests.
