Town One Streetscapes proposes the construction of a large brick structure at U.S. Route 422 and state Route 170 in Poland to greet motorists to the village. 
 
1983: Skydiver David Pasco, 35, of Jefferson County, is killed when he lands in Lake Bibbee near Lisbon after his steering cord became tangled, causing him to spiral. 
 
The owner of an audio production studio testifies at the bribery and tax evasion trial of James A. Traficant Jr. that he believes the tape recordings of Traficant and two local mobsters may have been altered. 
 
Dr. Pauline Powers, who dedicated much of her life to teaching the blind for more than a half-century in Youngstown city schools, dies at the age of 90.
