A Youngstown man suspected in a New Castle homicide has been brought from Florida to face charges in Lawrence County.

Leighton Weaver was brought to the Lawrence County Jail late last week following his extradition from Miami, where he was arrested on May 10.

Weaver is facing charges of criminal homicide, having weapons under disability, carrying a firearm without a license, and recklessly endangering another person for the shooting death of 42-year-old Lance Louis on April 19.

Investigators say Louis was shot in front of a home on Adams Street in New Castle while in the driver's seat of a vehicle. Louis was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased after all attempts to revive him failed.

During an arraignment before a district magistrate on Sunday, Weaver was ordered to be held in jail without bond.

Another court hearing is scheduled for July 5.
