Grand Jury indicts suspect in death of Youngstown teen

A Mahoning County Grand Jury has indicted Saun Peterson in the death of 15-year-old Amya Monserrat on April 15 after a drive-by shooting at Martha’s Boulevard Tavern on Southern Blvd. in Youngstown.
The Grand Jury indicted Peterson, 21, with five felony counts: murder with firearm specifications; felonious assault with firearm specifications; involuntary manslaughter with firearm specifications; improperly handling of firearms in a motor vehicle; and obstructing justice with a firearm specification.
Peterson was arrested in early May in Columbus for his alleged role in a shooting that killed the 15-year-old Monserrat at a Sweet 16 birthday party.
If convicted, Peterson could face a sentence of 15 years to life in prison.

Another suspect, 16-year-old Legend Pless, also known as Danyo Ryan Sellers, is being held in the Juvenile Justice Center on three counts of attempted murder and one count of murder.
