As part of an overall ongoing evaluation of traffic patterns in the city, Cortland is making some changes to traffic patterns in the city.

According to Mayor Diedre Petrosky, the city will see the speed limit on West Main Street in the city's central business district increase from 20 mph to 25 mph.

The second change being made is at the intersection of State Route Five and State Route 46. The continuous right turn on red when traveling north has been changed to no turn on red.

The city says this is to improve the safety of the intersection when Warren Meadville Drivers have a green light.

Police also will begin increasing traffic enforcement throughout the city.
